Dynamic molecular systems and materials
We are a chemistry research group with a strong expertise in the design and synthesis of small molecules, polymers and various organic materials, which respond to chemical and physical stimuli in order to perform a predefined action. In particular our research aims at developing and applying fundamental knowledge of molecules-light interactions for the design of synthetic (macro)molecular machines and innovative materials for sunlight harvesting (conversion of light into mechanical energy) and on-demand switching of organic and hybrid materials’ properties.
